Requirements to become a Licensed Family Day Home Educator 

  • Minimum 18 years of age 

  • Educator Application, Interview & References 

  • Home Safety Visits and Plans 

  • Clear Criminal Record, Vulnerable Sector and Intervention Record Check 

  • Current Insurance Requirements 

  • Pet Vaccination Records 

  • Valid First Aid Certificate 

  • Minimum Level 1 Early Childhood Certification (Available free of charge, and online)

Flagstaff Family Day Homes is a non-profit agency that recruits, approves, trains, supports and monitors licensed family day homes in Flagstaff County. The licenced family day home agency operates under a contract with the Government of Alberta. The day homes adhere to the Family Day Home Standards as set out by the Government of Alberta and additional best practice policies developed by the Agency Board of Directors. The Agency has been in operation since 1991.
